Manitou Springs is truly one of the most unique places in the Pikes Peak region. It is located 6 miles west of Colorado Springs, right at the foot of the Manitou Incline and the base of Pikes Peak. Long lauded by the native Ute Indians for the healing powers of it’s natural spring water, today it is an outdoor enthusiast’s dream come true and tops the list of nearly every visitor to Colorado Springs. The charm of this artist’s enclave is off the charts, blending tourism, street performers, boutiques, and creek-side restaurants. Fountain Creek runs right through the center of town, adding the calming sound of flowing water throughout the day.
As you drive up the historic Ute Pass (on Hwy 24), you encounter the quaint towns of Cascade, Chipita Park, Green Mountain Falls and Woodland Park. Each are self-governed towns full of yesteryear charm and modern conveniences. Original homes were largely summer cabins and working ranches, but now spacious homes on large wooded lots meet A-frame cottages and townhomes.
We would love to share these charming towns with you if mountain living is what you crave!
